Ein Gev at Galilee

We woke up a little late and enjoyed a awesome breakfast. They have awesome breakfast buffets in the resort and hotels here. Then we went back to our little condos and hung out for a bit, waiting to take the Ein Gev Kabbutz train to give us a tour threw the kabbutz. Here is Wikipedia's definition- kibbutz (Hebrewקִבּוּץ / קיבוץ, lit. "gathering, clustering"; plural kibbutzim) is a collective community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture
So we got over to the kabbutz and the train was broken. So no tour :(

We checked out the boats.

And the docks.

But the only cure to the disappointment of no trains was ice cream. Check out Jakes giant ice cream.

Thank goodness these two get some calories via cream and popsicles.

But we couldn't waste any more time away from the beach. So back we went to the little resort. The wind was blowing, so there were big waves that our kids jumped right into. Hawaii made them unafraid of waves. I jumped in with them and we swam for hours in the bath tub temperature water.

And we spent some time on the hammock.

And we worked on some summer freckles (love those freckles).

 Worked on our cheesy smiles.

And finally, we worked on perfecting our six year old cartwheels.

We got back and showered off and Jake had some crazy beach hair. He said, "Take a picture of me to show Landon my crazy hair!" So there you go Landon.

Off to dinner at the Fish Restaurant. Oh man was it nice. Salmon, fish and chips, and incredible molten chocolate soufflés for dessert.

 Grandma Janny and Seth

Sam and I

And for our evening entertainment we enjoyed a beautiful sunset.

 Going, Going, Gone!

But when we got back, we couldn't go inside. It was too beautiful. The temperature was just right. We all pulled up a chair next to the Sea of Galilee and talked story (like they say in Hawaii). Jayne crawled into Seth's lap and he asked her "Jayne, where are you going to go on a mission?" (A mission is a volunteer time for the LDS church. You can be sent all around the world.) Jayne burst into tears and said I don't want to go on a mission. Seth and I busted up laughing. She then explained that she never wanted to leave us, so she didn't want to go a mission. Then we told her that someday she would want to leave us that all the boys will want to give her "kissy- face" (a term coined by cousin Cami). Seth said that she couldn't go on any dates and no kissy-face until after her mission. Again she almost started crying at the thought of leaving us. She cracks me up. I love 6 year olds.  So her move she is doing below, is the ninja move, that she is suppose to do to all the boys. And then that is her zombie face to give all those kissy-face boys- beware.
As we sat out in front of the sea, Seth said this was his favorite part of the our trip. I had to agree.

Yes, we were on vacation from our adventure. With the little people, we didn't have enough energy to go to many sites, but the two nights we were there, we got to read the stories of Jesus at the Sea of Galilee. The Mount of Beatitudes, the Fishes and the Loaves, Jesus and Peter walking on the water, Jesus calming the sea, and Jesus calling to his disciples to become fisher's of men. The healings, the teachings, and the miracles that were done right here at the Sea of Galilee were amazing. It was wonderful to read this with the kids on the Galilee shore.

And my favorite time of night, to "kissy-face" these faces

  and have them sleep!

  1. I am such a "Photographer-Amy-Christensen-wanna-be"! The sunset photo of the profiles of Sam, Ellie, Jayne and Jake is my absolute favorite. Can I arrange for an internship with my niece-via-marriage in the future?? Thank you for your updates!
